Peru Travel Royal Tour one is the first leg of a five day video journey throughout the country done in 2002.
Former Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006) and his wife take Travel Channel's chief correspondent Peter Greenberg to an amazing journey by plane, helicopter, boat and even horseback to discover Peru's hidden treasures.
Royal Tour day One begins at Lima's Presidential Palace and a short biographical introduction to Alejandro Toledo's life and political career.

They will soon climb the Presidential plane and fly along Peru's north coast and Citadel of Chan Chan to their first destination: the fishing village of Huanchaco, to see intrepid fishermen riding the waves using straw boats - Caballitos de Totora...

Huanchaco is a name that comes from the Mochica word "Huacocha" and means "beautiful lagoon with golden fishes".
This is the only place in America where you will see them built as it was more than three thousand years ago. A tradition that goes back to pre-Inca times.
